Your body basically begins to stabilize it's self, and starts to use whatever nutrients is stored in your body fat. So you won't have to eat for up to 120days at a time, and you'll only need to drink Elixer #0 when you start to feel "hungry".

However the withdraws from not eating can be so intense you may begin to get irritable, easily angered, and could possibly taste full course meals that you haven't eaten in years.

For example if you've been a vegan for 4yrs, you may begin to taste meats such as ham, steak, turkey, and other common non vegan foods like cheese or dairy.

After 2 weeks the withdrawals will stop however and you may have already begun to loose weight. You will want to eat but not actually feel the need to like you did with the withdrawals. Some people find it best to lock themselves in a room with a heafty supply of only Elixer #0, a full bathroom, and supplies to keep you occupied for two weeks during the withdrawals.
